Angela Lindvall wants to save the world, one green action at a time.
If there’s one model that’s all about the green movement, it’s Angela Lindvall. She serves as the founder and president of the Collage Foundation to show youth that they have the power to change the world, is an ambassador for the Sustainable Style Foundation, lived in a tugboat—called Lakota—that she refurbished to ensure it was full of sustainable products, and also serves as a style expert for Alter Eco on the Planet Green network. But what else has she been doing to save the world?
• “One of the most exciting things I started doing in the past year and a half is composting.”
• “I’d like to be a spokesperson for a solar panel company.”
• “I’m planning on growing my own vegetables soon. I use all eco natural products. I eat organically and locally.”

• “I’m building a chicken coop at the moment. And I’m digging my own well.”

• “I’m really trying to recycle everything I can in my wardrobe at the moment because I’ve decided not to buy anything new. I have enough clothes to last me a really long time. It’s all about recycling what you have and being creative.”
• “I support a lot of farmers, and with my organization the Collage Foundation we have a whole local-farming movement happening in upstate New York called Camp Hill Farms. We started a farmer’s alliance with all the farmers in the area. It’s very exciting because we created a model that can work for other communities, and now the neighboring communities want to do the same thing.”
“I think it’s very important to have sustainable local systems so that we can depend on our own local economies. It’s really exciting because I think planting a seed is so symbolic for everything in life. You have to till the soil and nurture it, then you watch the sprout come and it grows, and then you have the fruit—the fruit of your labors.”
