Party Beat: Harley Viera Newton's 21 Candles

Turning 21 is a huge milestone, and Harley Viera Newton certainly enjoyed her big day, spending more than 24 hours celebrating. “Last night we went to Lit, which is our favorite bar,” she said. “All our friends were there. Someone brought a cake and I danced really hard, actually. The next morning, we woke up and went to Tea and Sympathy, which is an English restaurant in the West Village, went shopping, and had dinner at Lil’ Frankie’s. I came home, got ready, and decorated the bar.”

Modelinia hosted a huge party for the birthday girl and her closest friends at Arrow Bar. Counters and tables were overrun with candy, bubble wands, party hats, and feathery masks. Mischa Barton ran all around the bar, dressed in a British flag top, leather pants, and an Indian headdress, taking pictures of all her friends. Jessica Stam matched her leopard fur jacket with a party hat, and Mary-Kate Olsen even stopped by, with her new, not-even-in-stores-yet Alexander Wang bag on her arm.

Outside the bar, the sweets obsession continued, with an ice cream truck parked in front of the bar. In between snacking on candy, hanging out with friends, and dancing to the songs below, the college-student-turned-model mused on her past year and joked about her age. “I’m one step closer to finishing college,” said Harley. “I’m an adult now, which is disgusting! It’s all over now! I’m all washed up.” You know, Harley, 21 is really the beginning of the fun!

Though the birthday girl is usually in the DJ booth, she decided to take the night off. Harley did share with Modelinia her ideal birthday mix, however, straight off her iPod. To see more images, click here.
