9 Supermodels Share Their Secrets to Hydrated Radiant Skin

Nothing is more important than models keeping their skin fresh and hydrated in the cooler months—especially with all the Fashion Weeks just around the corner.

We’ve dug through 9 of our favorite models’ makeup bags and vanities to find out what their secrets are. Hydration is the key—and these are the products that keep them flawless and glowing and have us ready to combat the winter!

Crystal Renn is all about using the most luxurious ingredients, which is why she turns to Swiss deluxe brand, La Prairie. “I use La Prairie eye cream, and I don’t necessarily just use it on my eyes. I like to use it to soften the lips and the area around the mouth. It’s a lifesaver.”

Constance Jablonski says that beauty is, “All about being happy!” —and her happiness is achieved with moisturizer. For this French model, it’s all about the Estée Lauder Re-Nutriv product line—especially the Intensive Smoothing Hand Cream, that not only makes hands soft, but evens out dark spots and skintone as well.

The Victoria’s Secret ladies stick to what they know best—the VS Beauty Collection! Erin Heatherton always has the VS Makeup PRO Smooth FX Lip Scrub and Balm in her bag—while Adriana Lima sticks to the VS Makeup PRO Airbrush FX Face Primer SPF 20—a must-have for her clear, even skin, and perfect sun protection for the days she spends at home in sunny Brazil.

Fashion Week is the toughest season for models and their skin. But Hanne Gaby Odiele (as well as runway veteran Iman) swear by SK-II 3D Refining Mask which combats the breakouts and dryness that frequent traveling and makeup application wreak on their skin. They come individually packaged and are easy to peel on and off so there is no mess if you are on the go.

And who keeps it old-school using the trick that our older generations have been swearing by for years? It’s none-other than Karlie Kloss who sticks to the tried and true favorite, Pond’s Cold Cream. “It’s a heavy, rich, really saturated cream that I think my grandma probably used when she was my age, but you can’t mess with the classics! It works. I also like misting my face with rose water in morning. It’s so refreshing! It’s moisturizing and great for the winter when my skin gets really dry.”

Finally, two ladies who have been in the biz for awhile know that if you can’t find one skin routine that works for you, then invent your own. Beverly Johnson has created Flawless Skin, a collection of multicultural products that includes the Motivating Cleanser, Fresh and Easy Day Cream, and Dramatic Night Cream. Carol Alt also has had continued success with her Raw Essentials collection that handles skin care from the inside and out. She uses ingredients found in food to create her vitamin and mineral rich serums, cleansers, oils and creams.

So before you let the Winter torture your skin, combat it with at least one of these model favorite treatments that will give you skin as radiant as theirs. —Renee Lucas
