Sadly the troubles continue in the house of Christian Lacroix. Over the past few weeks, news broke that the design house filed for Chapter 11, and the fashion reporters have been all over the story ever since as Mr. Lacroix vowed to continue production on the couture pieces in order to go forward with the July show. At one point, an offer was even placed from a client to buy the famed house.
Today, things went on as scheduled at Les Arts Décoratifs, funded by not only the designer, but by donations of services as well. And the lucky girls who were able to walk in what could very well be his last show included Heidi Mount, Daiane Conterato, Vlada Roslyakova, Hanna Rundlof, and Olga Sherer. Heidi recognized the importance of the day, saying, “Did the last Christian Lacroix show today. The clothes were beautiful, but it was very sad.”
Still we wait to find out the fate of the iconic design house, but congrats to the lucky girls who were part of such a memorable moment in fashion history.
