There are probably a million and one stunning style-setters out there today, but when it comes down to it, nobody knows how to stay ahead of the sartorial game like the models! With their first-hand runway experience and insider styling tips, these lovely ladies seem to have an innate ability to not only shine in the season’s best looks, but to also set the trends that the rest of the fashion world can’t get enough of year-round. It’s for that reason then, that we always keep an eye on what the models are wearing, and these days that seems to be one designer in particular: Abed Mahfouz.
Our love affair with the Lebanese couturier first began when we spotted his breathtaking white floor length lace gown on Michelle Alves at the Alexander McQueen Costume Institute Gala Dinner in 2011. Michelle looked every bit a heavenly angel walking the red carpet in that delicate gown, simultaneously peaking our interest in this relatively new designer.
Not long after that initial sighting, Mahfouz had us swooning yet again, this time for Victoria’s Secret Angel Doutzen Kroes‘ beaded white mini frock spotted on the pink carpet at the 2011 VS Fashion Show After Party. From that moment on, we’ve spotted Mahfouz’s artful creations on countless top models, including Irina Shayk who wore an embellished bronze gown to this year’s Vanity Fair Oscar Party, May Andersen in a thigh-grazing violet number to the same event, and Arizona Muse most recently at W Magazine’s 40th Anniversary party.
Since launching his first couture collection in 2002, Mahfouz has quickly moved to the forefront of the fashion world, securing a spot on premiere red carpet events around the world. And thanks to his top model following, we’re sure this is only the beginning of the designer’s fashion career. Trust us, this is one designer you’re going to want to keep an eye on in the coming year!
