A Model Vet Steps In As the New Face of Miu Miu

Aside from a few appearances by Jessica Stam, Lindsey Wixson, Kasia Struss and Sasha Pivovarova, Miu Miu campaigns have been primarily dominated by celebrities. Everyone from Drew Barrymore to Katie Holmes has been photographed for the ads and just recently 14 year-old Hailee Steinfeld graced the brand’s Fall/Winter 2011 campaign which caused quite the stir.

While we personally enjoyed the tween’s sparkly-shoe-filled campaign, apparently many found it offensive to have such a young girl posing alongside a train track in the luxury label. So, the brand listened and replaced the Hollywood starlet with 34 year-old model vet, Guinevere Van Seenus, for their Resort 2012 campaign.

Over the past few years, Guinevere has kept busy doing editorials for magazines like British and Italian Vogue, but the American model hasn’t shot a campaign since 2009 when she appeared as the face of Kenzo. This is a surprising and welcome change for the Italian brand, as we enjoy any campaign that features a model. This could also open a ton of new doors for Guinevere who’s already had an impressive career with a number of Italian Vogue covers under her belt as well as campaigns with Jil Sander and Chanel.
