A New Kind of Vintage Shopping

Much as we hate to admit it, models aren’t the sole focus of editorials. (In Modelinia-land, they are!)

But along with the gorgeous girls come extravagant sets. It’s sad to hear, but many of those sets just go to waste when the shoot is over, though they do live on in the glossy pages of magazines, brought to life by our favorite models.

Nick Knight doesn’t want the creativity to lose its life post photo shoot. He can tell you the backstory of many different sets, such as the giant cherries that Coco Rocha posed with for Tim Walker, or the pink Cadillac for the Dior campaign with Angela Lindvall.

Those types of pieces now have a home in his new store in Mayfair, London. “The waste felt criminal. Somebody would love these pieces if they knew they existed.” Opening on Tuesday, the store will feature items that range in price from £500 to £50,000, and we’re sure it’ll become a new must-know spot for all those in the industry.

Already a champion of the online realm with SHOWstudio, Nick’s now set to take over the fashion archive world as well, though nothing will end up in his house.
“It suits me to have nothing but my kids’ paintings on the wall,” said Nick. “I have the photographs of these pieces. I am just happy they are out there.”
