In what turned out to be another marathon evening of Fashion Week, the night began at the Paris Theatre for a screening of Coco Before Chanel, starring Audrey Tautou. Pearls were out in mass quantities, decorating black and white outfits all over the theater. Adriana Lima showed up early, rubbing her adorably pregnant belly, but complaining of overheating. Lucky for her, the theater was nice and chilled.
While Audrey made her way down the press line discussing the film and the preparation involved to play the role of Coco, a multitude of models appeared, including Hilary Rhoda in all white and sporting an Alexander Wang-style side braid. And while she hadn’t seen the show, she was ahead of the trend—because that’s how models are. Obvi. Appropriately, she was in all-Chanel, right down to her purse. “This bag is the first piece of Chanel that I bought, but Karl’s given me bags, too.”
Agyness Deyn breezed right through, in all black to match her brand-new hairdo, but Modelinia caught up with Irina Lazareanu to discuss the first time she wore Chanel. “It was at a show, either 2003 or 2004. Amazing, you wear Chanel one time, or a bunch of times, it still feels the same: Timeless.”
While the history of Coco Chanel played out on the big screen uptown, downtown Vladimir Roitfeld and Armani were celebrating Richard Hambleton’s exhibit in a massive gallery space. Mario Testino mingled with art lovers, including Vlad’s sister Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Tori Praver, Hilary, Lily Donaldson, and Caroline Winberg.
And as the diva-like behavior continued for Lady Gaga, who refused to perform for the Out magazine party that was held in her honor, the real party was at Indochine for the art exhibit after-party, where Lily celebrated with Vlad, and everyone from Mary-Kate Olsen to Lindsay Lohan to Rachel Zoe gave into the intoxicating atmosphere. Rachel’s assistant, Brad, even twirled Lily around the dance floor and fell in love with her all over again.
