A Room Full of Nars Beauties

If you weren’t impressed with Daphne Guinness’ Alexander McQueen shoes last night, there was no way you could be unimpressed with the turnout and art installation for François Nars at Industria Studios, hosted by Marc Jacobs and Daphne.

To celebrate 15 years in the industry, he published a new book, featuring fashion insiders and our favorite models, including Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta, Dayle Haddon, Shalom Harlow, and Natasha Poly.

And the reception was massive. Anja Rubik (in Rodarte), Amber (in RM by Roland Mouret) Heather Marks, Tao Okamoto, Iris Strubegger, Jamie Bochert, Selita Ebanks (in Balmain), Maryna Linchuk, Katrin Thormann, Karolin Wolter, Rianne Ten Haken, Julie Henderson, Naty Chabanenko, Rose Cordero, and Edita Vilkeviciute brought the model quota, while designers like Phillip Lim, Erin Fetherston, and Olivier Theyskens mingled with Patrick Demarchelier.

In one room, portraits were blown up for easy viewing while a second room boasted two ceiling-to-floor projections of the behind-the-scenes video. Dayle, looking resplendent in Christian Dior, reminisced about her friendship with François. “My favorite memory is in Bora Bora. We had a surprise birthday for him since his birthday wasn’t planned. I was in Bora Bora and I convinced the person who runs his compound to take me into town and find funky things for his birthday. I had everyone cut them out to spell his name. It was just to see his face. He gives to so many people, to see how he was being given to was just my favorite.”
