Coco Rocha is branching out and walking down a different runway—one that doesn’t involve a huge designer or major fashion capital. It was her cousin who inspired her to become involved in a fund-raising event to support the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride. “My little cousin Erika was really involved in the ride last year. Her best friend had cancer and that’s how she got involved in the first place. She really inspired me,” Coco said. “She has put so much into this cause that I wanted to do what I could to help her out.” Coco will strut the catwalk at the Roxx Nite Club on May 31 in Ontario, Canada. Tickets are on sale for $25, and all of the proceeds go to the 7,000 kilometer Canadian bike ride from Vancouver to Halifax to raise funds for children with cancer. Coco will also bring 20 other supermodels to the project, but hasn’t said just which of her friends will be joining her. “Everyone is stopping everything else to do this” she said. “I don’t think anyone expected this to get this big.” Can we expect to see a few video montages with Behati Prinsloo appear on the model’s blog?
