For her beach wedding, Kristy Hinze started off with a picture of her Oscar de la Renta dress, and went directly to her hair stylist Brad Hensler of Edris Salon, in the Meatpacking District, for his thoughts on her hair style for the big day. “The dress had these rippling diagonal ruffles,” he told Modelinia. “It just floated. It looked like an octopus as it moves through the water.”
To start, he lightened her hair with a few highlights, and listened her stipulation that her hair be pulled back for the occasion. “I thought about coral and sea shells,” he said. “So I pulled it tight like a chignon on the back. There was a whole of mass that looked like coral, that was made of zulu knots, tiny twists of hair, that pull in tight and gives the effect of a mass of coral. There was an accent piece of a piece of twisted hair that looked like a shell.”
The celebration took place on Virgin Gorda, and was attended by celebrities and fashion insiders including Gina Gershon, Edward Norton, Liev Schreiber, Naomi Watts, and Neal Hamil.
