Modelinia Gets The Scoop On Alessandra Ambrosio's Latest Collaboration With Melissa Shoes!

When it comes to women and their shoes, the bond runs deep.  Carrie Bradshaw, although a fictional character, nonetheless stood for a whole population of women who were head over heels-no pun intended- for their Manolos, while filmmaker Julie Benasra went so far as to prove the passionate relationship between women and their high heels from a psychological perspective in her documentary, “God Save My Shoes.”  But, when Alessandra Ambrosio says she loves her Melissa shoes, the feelings are based on heritage and cultural roots as much as they are designer style.

For her first collaboration with the Brazilian shoe brand, aptly named “Alessandra Loves Melissa,” Alessandra had the chance to show off her native pride and signature beach babe style with two customized styles.

“As a little girl I loved my Melissa shoes,” Alessandra told us at last night’s Melissa hosted event. “Everyone in Brazil loves Melissa, so I was so happy to design my own styles.”

“I decided to take part in the project because I was looking for something beyond the modeling career.  I think the creative process is fascinating, and I have to tell you that I was willing to get involved and create something with my name, my brand.”

As the first celebrity guest designer to the brand’s new collaboration platform with celebrities, Alessandra worked with Melissa on creating a pair of day flats and sexy heels that are perfect for after hours. The brunette stunner lent her laid-back Brazilian roots and girly-glam charm to the design process, adding a cute glittery bow to the flats, and decking the 50’s inspired lady-like pumps in all out glitter.

“I love glitter, so I wanted to create something really sparkly and fun for night, and then I added a glittery bow on the flats for like a girly day look,” said Alessandra.
