Forget what you thought you knew about carnivals, because Alexander Wang is here to change those stereotypes. After debuting his Spring 2011 collection, complete with a serious white obsession and a runway stomp from supers like Karolina Kurkova and Karen Elson, Alex invited friends to the West Side Highway for an experience they won’t soon forget.
What once was a parking lot turned into a masterful fashion carnival for one night only, complete with a bouncy castle, merry go round, bumper cars, and arcade games. Editors and models alike showed off their inner child, even stripping off heels to jump around in the moon bounce - which Behati Prinsloo declared the most fun, ever.

Clearly the evening was a welcome change from club parties and packed atmospheres, as the carnival attracted a litany of models including Mirte Maas, Patricia van der Vliet, Irina Shayk, Tori Praver, Rose Cordero dancing the night away, Hannah Holman showing off her skeeball skills, Alessandra Ambrosio and Dree Hemingway enjoying the merry-go-round, Lindsey Ellingson, Iris Strubegger, and Julia Stegner.

With little pulled pork sandwiches as nourishment, a full-on dance party materialized, and quickly, Alexander Wang was on stage dancing with Agyness Deyn to Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA”. The crowd straggled home during the early hours of the morning, holding little bears as prizes from an after party the fashion industry won’t soon forget. ~ Bianca Posterli
