It was just announced that the ambiguous male model, Andrej Pejic, is the new face for the Dutch intimate apparel brand, Hema. While we’re all for pushing the boundaries - especially when it comes to fashion - we think this has gone a little too far.
Andrej is known to model both men’s and women’s clothing, but we think it crosses the line to place him as the spokesmodel for a women’s intimates campaign, even if it’s for a mega push-up bra that’s said to make your breasts appear two sizes bigger. “It’s revolutionary. I’ve never known a man to do a womens’ lingerie campaign before,” Andrej’s agent, Joseph Tenni told Frock Writer. True, we haven’t either, but don’t you think women’s lingerie should be advertised on a woman, no matter how flat chested she may be?
Yes, Andrej looks gorgeous (as always), but we’re not convinced his feminine beauty works for women’s intimates. Are you?
