Victoria’s Secret Angel, Izabel Goulart, just signed on for a new angelic role, as International Ambassador for the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation. She’s been involved with the disease ever since her brother was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was just a baby. “I am so excited and proud to be working with the Diabetes Research Institute. Nothing is more important to me than finding a cure for my brother,” said Izabel. “If I can raise awareness in the course of my travels, and bring attention to the Diabetes Research Institute, I will be helping my brother and millions like him who are living with this disease.”
Her past experience includes working with hospitals in her home of Brazil and raising money for insulin, but her new role will include raising awareness and bringing support to the research program trying to find a cure. Izabel visited the Institute for a tour to meet with the scientists and discuss their work. When asked about her visit and impression of those helping the cause, her powerful experience rendered her rather speechless. “I have, I think, for the first time, no words, she said. “And I speak a lot!”
