Angels On Wheels!

Hopping on their stationary bikes for a good cause, Victoria’s Secret Angels Doutzen Kroes, Erin Heatherton, Lindsay Ellingson, Arlenis Sosa, and Behati Prinsloo made a special trip to the Upper East Side last night for the annual Supermodel Cycle Ride held at the hip fitness club, SoulCycle.

Clad in their matching event tees and black lycra bike pants, the Angels made for a jaw-dropping sight at the upbeat spinning club usually occupied by Upper East Side fitness junkies. Leggy stunner Doutzen Kroes led the pack of beauties as they peddled their hearts out to benefit Pelotonia- an annual grassroots bike tour that plays host to a benefit ride for more than 5,000 riders each year in Columbus, Ohio- and the organization’s efforts to raise funds for cancer research.

Although the girls looked incredibly cool posing for pictures alongside the SoulCycle bike, there were some nerves prior to the cycling class.

“I’ve never done this before!” said Behati.  “I’m very nervous, but I’m really excited because it’s a great cause and we’re here to raise money for cancer research, so I’m excited to be here and to get my sweat on!”

No worries though, as the Aussie Angel had some seasoned cyclists by her side.

“I attended the event last year,” said Lindsay.  “It was my first time last year and then I’ve kept up with it over the year, not that often, but I have to say it’s the most challenging workout that I’ve ever done, so I’m very anxious for tonight!”

“I’m actually really getting into it, ” exclaimed Arlenis.  “This is going to be my fifth ride, so I think I’m going to be good at it!”

We were most impressed by Doutzen though, who admitted to knowing her way around a bike- well, a Dutch bike anyways.

“Well, I’m from Holland, so I actually cycled to school everyday for 24 km, so like 50 miles almost like everyday. That was just to school, but not on a bike like this, it’s totally different; this is my first time.”

With their favorite VS Sport bras on and a specially curated playlist of hip-hop tunes on deck though, these models were up for the challenge. Teaming up with Pelotonia for a second year, the Victoria’s Secret team participated in the actual cycle class available to ticket holders at prices ranging from $1,500-$2,500.  Throughout the night of pedal pushing, riders were also given the chance to bid on exclusive Victoria’s Secret items, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Pelotonia and their fund-raising efforts for The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center- James Cancer Hospital.

“It’s really important because we’re raising money for cancer research, added Doutzen.  “When Victoria’s Secret asked me I was so happy to do something because they’re really involved and they’re actually matching the amount of money we’re raising today.  For me, that was a great thing to do, to get involved.  When I can do something for charity I’m always wanting to and I also get a workout in so that’s really exciting!”

“Cancer has touched so many people’s lives,” said Erin.  “Not only are we together with our whole Victoria’s Secret family, breaking a sweat and SoulCycling, but we’re raising money for a great cause and I’m just so honored to be here!”
