Tonight marks the annual Met Costume Institute Gala, with a special tribute to the celebrated late designer Alexander McQueen. And as with every year, the choice of which dress to wear is of the utmost importance. This year, Coco Rocha had a very specific request in mind, but she had some trouble fulfilling it, due to certain restrictions.
“I picked out all these crazy Alexander McQueen designs,” Coco told Modelinia, “and I’m like use me, use me - antlers, I can do it. And they’re like, ‘It’s all in the exhibit.’ All they have [available] are these nice dainty dresses. I want to wear the bird! I kept sending pictures [to see what was available], being like, “This one, [and they would respond] no, this one, [and they would respond] no!”
Out of all the attendees - models, celebrities, editors, and designers, it goes without saying that Coco could not only easily rock one of McQueen’s more elaborate pieces with both grace and elegance, but also flourish in the design.
Here’s hoping she found success and appears on the red carpet in only the most decadent of McQueen designs.
