The drop waist dress is the silhouette we want to wear now. Ralph Lauren, Gucci and Alberta Ferretti looked to the twenties for their Spring 2012 collections and sent jewel encrusted looks of longer lengths down the runway. They must have been as excited as we are about the remake of The Great Gatsby (Gemma Ward has a starring role!), as every single look seemed totally fit for Daisy Buchanan and all her escapades.
While the film doesn’t come out until Christmas of this year, supermodels Anja Rubik and Heidi Klum have already been spotted wearing these twenties inspired numbers. With a slightly looser fit and lots of shine, these dresses are made for those hot summer cocktail soirees where anything tighter would feel suffocating. We only wish that we could look as the fabulous in the gowns we have seen Gemma Ward wearing on set.
