Backstage with Greg Kessler and Modelinia at the Mercedes Benz Star Lounge

To celebrate the end of Fashion Week, Modelinia worked with Greg Kessler to create and launch his very first book, which we celebrated at the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge last night, along with Roxanne Lowit, Elettra Wiedemann, and JD Ferguson.

“You make so many images over the season that never get seen,” Greg said of his new book. “There’s so much of a moment there, I’m just happy they can finally see the light of day.” He worked with a curator to narrow down the images, given his complete attraction to each and every picture taken. “These girls are worn out and broken down by the end of a season, and the only thing left is who they really are. So you develop a relationship with a girl, and you’re seeing this raw emotion of both the girl and the energy of backstage.”

Elettra popped in right after Calvin Klein to support Greg, and chatted with Modelinia about the change in venues, Fashion’s Night Out, and the vibe it created for the week, as well as her designer friends who showed.

Photo master Roxanne was like a proud mommy beaming at Greg’s success. “He was a cute little boy backstage,” she said of the first time they met. “He wanted to take pictures of the models because he found them so cute and sexy, as he does now. Some things never change. Greg was back there with his big eyes, and I said just do what I do, follow me. And he did.” Can she take credit for his talent? “Not everything, but I’ll take responsibility for a lot.”

If you missed the first installment of Greg’s book, not to worry. He aims to make this a seasonal creation, so your library can be full of images by Greg Kessler.
