For models, work involves channeling the feel and look a designer is going for that season.
But in Barbora Dvorakova’s case, she’s not only displaying the emotions of Peter Jensen, but also turning into a doll form. Peter worked with artist Laurie Simmons, who shot dollhouse images in the ’70s, and served as his inspiration and team member. “Her photographs have a sort of naive, childish innocence that caught my eye,” he said. “I wanted to transform that into grown-up clothing.”
Therefore the doll form of Barbora was born, and Peter dressed the paper dolls in shrunken versions of his designs, while Laurie studied poses from the ’60s and ’70s for Barbora to emulate.
