Karolina Kurkova may be on the fast track to becoming a TV sensation, but that isn’t stopping the supermodel from lending her renowned talents to a all-new campaign gig. This morning, the CFDA announced, that the top model will star as the face of the organization’s 2012 Fashion Targets Breast Cancer international T-shirt campaign featuring the original Ralph Lauren designed logo, as part of the group’s year-long initiatives.
“We are excited to have Karolina as the face of this campaign,” said CFDA CEO Steven Kolb. “She looks amazing wearing the FTBC Worldwide tee. Her support leads our industry’s effort as we raise funds for breast cancer programs around the globe.”
Photographed by Greg Lotus, the 2012 FTBC campaign will donate all of the proceeds from each shirt sold to the FTBC fund at the New York Community Trust. Since 1994, FTBC has been dedicated to raiding public awareness and funds to support breast cancer research, education, and patient care. Over the years, the group’s worldwide efforts have raised over $50 million dollars, making FTBC the fashion community’s singular most successful response to fighting breast cancer.
The charitable cause seems like the perfect fit for Karolina, as the stunning top model is currently preparing for a mentoring position on Lifetime’s upcoming series, The Face. “As a woman and a mother, I am proud to give a voice to the 1 in 8 women of all ages affected by breast cancer in their lifetime,” stated the model in an official press release. “By purchasing the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer t-shirt, you too, can lend your support to raise awareness and funds for patients, their families, and friends. And, it’s a fashionable reminder to get an annual check up!”
