First Bon Qui Qui, now this! It’s never been clearer that the ’90s are back in full force this fashion season and thanks to DKNY’s latest collaboration with Opening Ceremony, Cara Delevingne just may be the new ‘face’ of the decade.
In addition to posing for DKNY’s spring campaign, Cara has also been tapped for the soon-to-be released capsule collection, which revisits 15 classic styles from the label’s early ’90s archive. Cara may not have been around for those Salt ‘n Pepa blasting, logo embellished, sportswear -heavy days, but dressed in the monochromatic looks and hair styled in multiple mini buns like Gwen Stefani, the model certainly has us fooled.
DKNY was a pioneer of streetwear fashion in the ’90s,” said Opening Ceremony co-founder Carol Lim. “We have been longtime fans of the brand and we’re very excited to bring back select, quintessential styles that feel fresh even today.”
These logo’d tees, bodysuits, cropped puffy jackets and hoodies could not be more of Cara’s street style MO, as the model is often spotted in similar ’90s influenced styles herself— we see you rocking those snap backs and high-tops Cara! Like a true ’90s gal, the young Brit pulls off the one piece jumpsuits and Sporty Spice attire with such ease that we just might consider whipping out our old cassette players and Fly Girl biker shorts just to get in on the nostalgic action. Although, on second thought, it might be best to leave the quirky retro style to the pros here. After all, no one pulls off young, cool-kid streetwear like Cara D!
The collection launches in Opening Ceremony boutiques in New York, Los Angeles, London and Tokyo and online starting tomorrow. In the meantime, check out more of Cara’s killer street style right here!
