It was a top model love affair at Jason Wu on Friday, as runway legend Carolyn Murphy returned to the runway to open the buzzed about show. Sporting a bright red lip, defined brows, and sleek retro updos, Carolyn looked just as amazing as ever walking it out on the catwalk accompanied by Wu’s top model posse: Hanne Gaby Odiele, Karlie Kloss, Liu Wen, Jourdan Dunn, Aymeline Valade, Cara Delevingne, Fei Fei, Frida Gustavsson, Daria Strokous, and Ginta Lapina. To our pleasant surprise, Victoria’s Secret Angel Erin Heatherton also lent a fresh face to what was the best model cast we’ve seen yet this week! The lingerie beauty looked perfectly at ease sauntering down the runway in a sexy black lace crop top and leather A-line skirt.
Wu had quite a few surprises up his sleeves with this season’s offerings. The typically polished, ultra-girly ensembles favored by The First Lady, seemed to have given into the designer’s darker— dare we say risque— side. See-through lace and dominatrix-style leather harnesses presented a sexier, more provocative woman for spring, who wasn’t afraid to turn a few heads on the street. Wu pushed his limits this time around, adding drama and scandal to the black and white looks while remaining true to that oh, so familiar sweet, girly aesthetic we’ve come to love his for!
