After the massive Parisian party to launch the Sonia Rykiel pour H&M collection, it was only right that New York should get take part in some of the fun. Last night H&M hosted a launch party at Bobo, which turned out to be a bit of a kick off to New York Fashion Week. Multiple mannequins showed off the new knitwear collection, but Rykiel designs weren’t only seen on the mannequins, as platinum blonde Siri Tollerød looked beyond precious in her sparkly Rykiel outfit, complete with a Peter Pan collar.
Guests entered to the tunes of Chanel Iman, who served as the evening’s musical master. Set up behind the DJ booth, the model was flanked by her two friends and doting boyfriend, showing off a pair of red-and-black leggings with a simple white tank. “I love music,” said Chanel of her DJ duties. “I love parties. This is something that H&M asked me to do, and I couldn’t turn down a new experience.” With her musical friends, the transition from model to DJ was simple. “I have my friends here, who are DJs as well, so they helped me get the programs and learn this stuff.” As for the tunes of the night? It was a complete range: The Rolling Stones, MGMT, Goldfrapp, No Doubt, La Roux, The xx, Ke$ha, Michael Jackson, Madonna, and of course, Britney Spears.
In between the multiple floors, Modelinia spied a group of Elite girls, including Hannah Holman, whose image you’re sure to see haunting the East Village thanks to her Alexander Wang campaign. “I don’t even know what to say about it, it all happened so fast!” said Hannah of her multiple campaigns this season. “I’m really happy about how they all came out.” You’ll spot her around Fashion Week and on the runway, but the model was keeping silent on her hopes for this season. “I’m really curious to see what’s going to happen. I’m looking forward to the outcome, to see what I book. I don’t want to say too much!” Hannah’s already picked out her post Fashion Week present to herself: a pair of Helmut Lang pants. “I’ve had them in my mind for a while! I’ve gone and tried them on and walked out sad.”
And since it’s Friday, we snagged a portion of Chanel’s late-night playlist to share with you for some musical inspiration this weekend.
