Couture has begun!
Chanel Iman started reporting from Paris via her favorite new form of communication: Twitter. In the past, news would leak via blogs, and before that newspapers—now, it’s all about the second-to-second updates. And Chanel’s on her Tweets. She released the news that she’d be walking exclusively for Dior by saying, “In Paris exclusively for Christian Dior! But shhh don’t say a word! THE SHOW MUST GO ON!! Crossing my fingers the corset doesn’t strangle me.” Hours later, the Tweets continued from backstage, as she wrote, “Tightening up my corset as we speak aaaaahhhh !!! RELEASE ME.” And then, she followed up with a picture! “For those of you who don’t know what Haute Couture DIOR is I’ll show u the real Haute Couture!!! Are u ready?”
We certainly are.
Instead of a typical runway show, models slinked through the rooms of Avenue Montaigne where John Galliano showed a collection full of ladylike looks: corsets, see-through skirts, and Stephen Jones hats.
(And speaking of showing off, Heidi Mount was also there demonstrating some new moves she may have learned from her new Parisian trainer.)
