The weekend may have only just begun, but a few of our favorite models are already well ahead of the game after having spent last night mingling with quite the impressive cast of party-goers. In the West Village, Sarah Jessica-Parker and Anna Wintour hosted President Obama’s fundraising dinner at the actress’s posh townhouse which gathered a stylish cast of supporters-namely Michael Kors, Georgina Chapman, and Meryl Streep- not to mention runway hit Chanel Iman!
Along with good friend Solange Knowles, Chanel stepped out in a fresh pop of color, sporting a mustard colored shift that accentuated the model’s slight frame. For accessories, Chanel chose a slightly darker pair of strappy, orange sandals, a black sparkle clutch, and just a few understand gold jewelry pieces.
Of course, this isn’t the first time the young model has thrown her star power behind President Obama’s reelection campaign. Earlier this week, the budding political activist made a strong appearance at Anna Wintour’s second ‘Runway to Win’ fundraising event along with designer Rachel Roy and model friend Heidy del a Rosa in Chicago. Although Chanel wasn’t even old enough to vote for the President in the last election, that didn’t stop her from working the catwalk and gaining the praise of Anna Wintour who introduced Chanel as “an inspiration to so many young Americans who are dedicated to helping the President move this country forward.”
Meanwhile, downtown at the Crosby Hotel, Calvin Klein’s Malcolm Carfrae drew models Karlie Kloss, Julia Nobis, Nicole Trunfio, and Ajak Deng together for the silent auction apart of the annual Australians in New York Fashion Foundation Summer party. An A-list crowd indeed!
