Chanel Turns Models Into Wookiees

While Karl Lagerfeld chose to dress up his ladies for an afternoon romp on the farm for Spring 2010, the Chanel designer had a cold and furry thought in mind for the Fall 2010 collection.

Set alongside glaciers shipped in from The Ice Hotel in Sweden, models including Karl’s favorite Lara Stone delicately stomped through the runway accentuated with a simple layer of water, as Abbey Lee Kershaw started off the show, which was culminated with the bride of Freja Beha Erichsen in pure white.

In between the overwhelmingly large fur boots and outfits which called to mind those adorable wookiees, the collection held timeless pieces including the brand’s notable tweed jackets, classic bags, and neutral palette. It was Erin Wasson, in a set of fur shorts whom Modelinia was most excited to see walk the water-lined runway, given her rare catwalk appearances.

And, P.S., if you’ve never seen Star Wars, go rent it immediately, and you’ll totally understand our wookiee reference.
