It was London school girls with a nod to mod last night at Charlotte Ronson! Although we are used to New York influences in her designs, Charlotte Ronson’s Fall 2013 Ready to Wear Collection draws inspiration from her English upbringing and we couldn’t be happier. We were instantly transported to the London streets among a sea of tartan trousers, mini tea dresses in leather and lace, thick wool coats, and bomber jackets. And of course, Ronson’s trademark floral fabrics and crop tops also made a stellar appearance as well as her usual must-have accessories. Her Canteen bag in plaid, charcoal and black patent leather and yes, floral was nothing short of a stand out hit- not to mention some delicious sky-high ankle boots!
Set to poppy Brit tunes by DJ and twin sister, Samantha Ronson, Charlotte opted for a presentation this time around, rather than a runway show, because she wanted people to be able to see her designs more closely and clearly. The NYC cool crowd mingled amongst the fresh-faced models, taking in Ronson’s designs with delight, thus throughly marking the presentation’s purpose. It’s safe to say that Charlotte Ronson knocks this one out of the park and all the way across the pond!
