Chrissy Teigen Talks Sriracha, Chicken Thighs, and Her Hatred for Whole Foods

Chrissy Teigen finds her happy place in the kitchen. Along with updating her food blog with recipes that have us drooling at our desks, theĀ Sports Illustrated supermodel is constantly tweeting about her kitchen experiences that include everything from her love of ribs to her need for bacon. Earlier this week we caught up with Chrissy to find out more about her culinary adventures, and why she hates Whole Foods so much.

Modelinia: What are some ingredients that you cannot live without?

Chrissy: If I don’t haveĀ sriracha in my kitchen I will be upset for the whole day. And, not to sound like an ad, but those new little packets of chicken broth by Swanson really do add so much flavor to whatever I’m making. Seriously, they’re awesome!

Modelinia: What’s in your freezer?

Chrissy: Chicken thighs! I always have to have them in there. I’m convinced you can’t do anything without them.

Modelinia: Ok now tell us, why is it that you hate Whole Foods?

Chrissy: I seriously hate Whole Foods so much. For some reason whenever people are there it’s like all they do is just stare up as if the Empire State Building is there or something. And no one ever says excuse me! I’m always the person that’s like “excuse me, excuuuuuse me!” but no one listens and I end up having a panic attack. And those three lines drive me crazy! If you pick the wrong line then you end up watching everyone go before you even though you’ve been waiting there a hell of a lot longer than they have. I could talk about my hatred for Whole Foods, or just grocery stores in general, forever.

Modelinia: What’s next for you in the kitchen?

Chrissy: This is the biggest month ever right now with the Grammy’s, Sports Illustrated and I’m going to be on Bravo too, so I haven’t had a lot of time in the kitchen. But I’m hoping to start culinary school and you know, just keep cooking! I feel like that’s the most important thing.
