
On November 6th, Christy Turlington and nine of her friends will hit the ground running (pun intended) at New York City’s Marathon. The group is getting together to raise awareness for Christy’s charity, Every Mother Counts, which strives to improve maternal and child health across the world.
For the past few months, Christy has been training aggressively, changing her usual running regime of six miles to a whopping 21 miles. But that’s not all her marathon training requires. Christy has been loading up on carbs to boost her endurance for the 26.2 mile course. “[Eating carbs] is something I had always heard about but never really knew what it involved. It’s kind of nice to say you have to eat carbs. That’s my job right now,” the supermodel told WWD. That’s a pretty fantastic job if you ask us!
