During most of Fashion Week, Coco Rocha teased her fans with a bit of a will she/won’t she game. A few Tweets here and there caused her fans to wonder about the possibility of Coco appearing on at least one runway during the New York season. And on the second to last day, she did just that. We hung out backstage at Anna Sui and ran into Coco and her adorable mom, only to find out that both Coco and Behati Prinsloo would be walking exclusively for the designer!
“I was actually suppose to take it off,” Coco told Modelinia. “I figured 12 seasons, time for a little break. But then I was told I must, and of course I would, do Anna Sui. Doing Anna Sui meant I must do a few more shows. So I’m going to Paris and do some of them. I’m off tonight for Paris to do a shoot with Karl [Lagerfeld] and then stay there, do another shoot, then do the shows.”
Fresh from winning Elle’s Model Of The Year 2011 in London, Coco expressed just how exciting it was to win two prestigious titles for her work from two different magazines in one year. “This one I didn’t expect. This one was like 1,000 people, a huge deal. Boy George gave me my award and he was so cute how he introduced me. He was like, ‘Does this campaign, does that campaign, has 60,000 followers on Twitter, more than me, you better say hi!” He was so cute! Everyone else was very polished in introduction, but he was fun.”
Cohati took a moment to pose in their Modelinia t-shirts, before stepping onto the runway along with Lily Donaldson, Arizona Muse, Frida Gustavsson, and Caroline Trentini, rounding out a major cast of models. ~ Bianca Posterli
