Modelinia is kind of in love with videos that are conversations, especially those between models and fashion insiders.
Our newest obsession is the short film between Lakshmi Menon and stylist Keegan Singh. The pair had never met before MTV Iggy brought them together to chat about their work, fashion trends, and the status of color in the beauty industry. Lakshmi tells Keegan about her start as a model, saying, “It was sort of a part-time job because I was very serious about what I was doing in college. I had other plans, but then God has other plans for you, too.” Keegan, too, was a model (Did you know that?) at a young age, explaining, “I was a model when I was younger for like two seconds…I wasn’t really into it.” But after working with KCD, he moved into styling and now gets to dress some of the most gorgeous models in the world. The two also chat about street style, as Lakshmi gives her opinion, saying, “When you look at fashion, it’s not about specifically following a trend, it’s about bringing something that is your own…to a trend that’s prevalent at the time.” Watch Part 1 and Part 2.
