Cover Watch: June and July Beach Reading

Anja Rubik lovers have been waiting with baited breath since last week when the announcement was made that she’d appear on the cover of Vogue Paris for the June/July 2009 issue. It features Anja on a white background, shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, celebrating her very first cover for the magazine. The inside also has a variety of editorials with Sasha Pivovarova, Magdalena Frackowiak, Natasha Poly, Isabeli Fontana, Eniko Mihalik, and Guinevere Van Seenus.

Sadly Mixte has folded, but Missy Rayder will go down in history as the last model to grace their cover. She’s on issue No. 64 in Armani, by Xevi Muntané, and also poses for the inside editorial “Medusa.” Karen Elson plays with fire for the Fever issue of Numéro 104, by Michael Thompson, in a one-piece bathing suit that draws all the attention to her hair and the flames behind her.

While Flair’s June 2009 issue has Jeisa Chiminazzo looking perfectly summery, Vogue Nippon July 2009 features Kate Moss, also by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Inside, Raquel Zimmermann shows off her newly dyed hair in her first editorial, “White Wings,” since she dyed it; Freja Beha Erichsen plays rodeo girl in “My Cowgirl Hero”; Anja Rubik stars with Karl Lagerfeld’s love, Baptiste Giabiconi, in “Into the Light”; Siri Tollerød has a beauty editorial; and Alek Wek poses for “Now and Forever.”
