Rumors spread quickly on the Internet. And most recently, there were murmurs that Gemma Ward had quit modeling. While she’s been away from the industry for some time—filming and pursuing an acting career—we never thought that she’d given up on fashion forever.
Now her mom is speaking out to the world. It seems Gemma is taking a Lily Cole approach to the next few years, looking into a three-year program at Yale University. But that’s not all. She has also looked into a broad view of the world, according to her mom, visiting Malawi with the Hunger Project and Brazil. “She was very interested to see what’s behind the glossy façade of Brazil and looking at the slums, with a view to doing something there in the future,” she said.
