Back in June, Marc Jacobs told Modelinia that Karlie Kloss was his model love—which made total sense as she is the current face of his fragrance, Lola.
It’s no surprise that everyone’s a huge fan of the all-American teenager, with her classic looks. But sometimes even Karlie is astonished at her position in the industry. “I didn’t believe it, to be honest,” she said to W, for their new feature, The Skinny. “I was shocked. I was like, ‘No, you’re kidding me. Me? Marc Jacobs knows my name?!’ I was convinced that they accidentally drew my name out of a hat or something.”
But in between the couture shows she just walked in—Jean Paul Gaultier, Valentino, Armani Privé, Givenchy—she’s really quite down-to-earth. Karlie missed the Fourth of July, so she’s planning a huge barbecue and plans to stay in bed for three days to rest up after her shows in Paris. She still attends high school, though, just like other 16-year-olds. “My school in St. Louis is great. They basically created a program where I can do online classes and independent studies when I’m traveling. But then I still get to go home and take classes in a normal school environment. It’s nice to just be a kid and hang out with your friends at lunch.” Plus, there are always the dreams of a future. For Karlie, that involves becoming a pediatrician or a kindergarten teacher. From the runways to precious little kids for Karlie?
