In anticipation of the Wilhelmina 40+ Model Search, presented by Miraclesuit, Carol Alt and Dancing With The Stars costume designer, Randall Christensen hosted an intimate luncheon on Monday afternoon to kick off the search!
Busy at work on her third book, Carol immediately expressed her number one suggestion for all of the model hopefuls without having to think for a second. “Go raw immediately!” she exclaimed. “I waited too long to eat properly and it really makes a difference in how you work.” As for said new book, she’s finding inspiration from fellow raw fans. “I’m finding inspiration from everyone else - questions, things they’re worried about things, they don’t understand, and I’m just answering the questions. It’s really easy this third bok. The second one was the hardest.” Look out for her latest work on shelves next spring, which, if Carol has anything to say about it, will be called Easy, Breezy, Sexy, Raw.
Over bites and chats about the logistics of dressing women for Dancing with the Stars, we just had to ask about the design inspiration Randall was feeling for the show’s new cast member, Petra Nemcova. “I’ve got more than a few ideas!” he said. “We’ve already designed her first week’s costume, but the song is a little softer than what they were expecting, so we’re going to scale back and make it a little more romantic.” While some of Randall’s are more difficult than others, Petra is up for anything. “She has fashion training and legs up to here. She wants to be a hands-on part of the design. She’s open to everything! The only thing she asked what that for the photoshoot, we put her in a one-piece because of the foundation that she has. But she has such an amazing figure I don’t mind! We don’t have to show it all.”
