Eat, Pray, Love Lancôme

“The eat part of the movie is very literal,” warned Kerry Diamond, Lancôme VP of Public Relations, as she urged guests, including the brand’s spokesmodel Elettra Wiedemann, to enjoy their share of Italian delicacies before settling in for an evening of dining, praying, and finding life’s balance.

On Thursday night, the beauty brand created an intimate event for makeup artists, models, and Modelinia to enjoy the on camera beauty of their latest spokewoman, Julia Roberts. While Julia took on the role of Elizabeth Gilbert in the new film, Eat, Pray, Love based on her best-selling novel, movie goers were transported through the wondrous lands of Italy, India, and Indonesia in a beyond visually appealing film.

“I was like 21 [when I read the book], so I didn’t have the same life experiences,” said Elettra, “but I still felt like there were so many different things I could relate to in that book. I think everyone has a similar experience, with men or enjoying food or being by yourself and learning about yourself.”

As for the travel aspect of the film and aspirational vacation destinations, Elettra just satisfied her own life goal. “I just came back from Brazil and surfing for 10 days on Sunday night,” she said. ” I was looking forward to that for my whole life. The waves that I started out on were like 6 inches high. You just learn how to get up, and then you’re on 2 feet, 3 feet waves. The last day I was doing like an 8 foot wave.”

While Elettra’s successfully crossed off her travel goals, we’d highly suggest seeing this movie only after quenching your own desires. It’s wanderlust in film form.
