Edie Campbell’s Burberry riding boots will be put to good use on July 28th as the model is set to compete in the first ever Celebrity Ladies Race hosted by Glorious Goodwood! The afternoon will raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital, in an effort to continue the pairing of fashion and charitable actions.
Luckily, Burberry’s current face is no stranger to horseback riding. ”I’ve been horse riding since I was five, so fifteen years now,” Edie said. “I have a horse in Warwickshire and compete every couple of weeks and try to ride about three times a week. My mum took me to the local riding school near her little cottage when I was tiny and I loved it. I like the no bullshit aspect of it and the lack of ego. You have to get outside of your own head to ride well and be very disciplined and calm. I was always told by my very first riding teacher Mrs. Ward, ‘Keep your heels down and you won’t fall off!”
In addition to Edie’s involvement, fashion brands including Issa and Hermes are set to dress the riders, bringing the fashion quota even higher. Good luck Edie!
