We all know how much work goes into Fashion Week; designers pull all-nighters prepping their collections, PR agents never spend a minute away from email, and editors are deep in research going over past collections and upcoming trends. But what about the models? The week before Fashion Week is equally as hectic and busy for them. Aside from keeping their figures in shape, models are in back-to-back go-sees and castings where they’re either accepted or rejected for a show.
As we approach the final lockdown before Fashion Week, we thought we’d re-blog our video with Elettra Wiedemann sharing her experiences starting out as a model and giving advice as to how to make it through those gruesome rejections. It took Elettra about six years to understand that a rejection was not a reflection on her but was solely because the designer or brand had a different look in mind. Rejections aren’t easy no matter who you are, but Elettra gives an optimistic and encouraging perspective on how to get through!
