Ethereal Erin Fetherston

Fashion industry insider Camilla Morton jumped right into the throes of New York Fashion Week and will be guest-blogging for Modelinia all week long.

I was still adjusting to being in the Big Apple when I found myself down in Chelsea—or whatever that triangle is that joins Stella McCartney to Soho House to Pastis. After getting something from Starbucks that tasted like cold, watered-down tar, I decided to take myself and my marshmallow square to Milk Studios, as this was where all the legs and heels seemed to be heading.

Clearly Erin Fetherston is a designer to watch. As the first ruffle taupe cape coat came out on Alisa Matviychuk, partially hidden under a lovely white hat à la Mia Farrow in the Great Gatsby, legs crossed in other directions as reviewers started to shop, and models looked at ease in outfits they clearly wanted to keep. Ethereal dusty pinks, khakis, and dresses named after screen icons like Lauren Hutton, Meryl Streep, and Mia came down the runways, mixing smoky eyes with cherry blossom prints and long Bambi-like limbs. If Bianca Jagger still had Studio 54 to party in, the sequins and chiffon-ruffled jumpsuits at the close of the show would have caught her eye, though more likely will be popular with the Gossip Girls of today. ~ Camilla Morton
