They’re bringing sexy back, again! On Tuesday night, cover girl Kate Upton and the sixteen models who grace the pages of this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue gathered together to fete the launch of the 50th anniversary issue, making for one of the sexiest red carpets of the year! Joined by teams of editors, photographers and close friends and family, the lovely ladies kicked off the Launch Week festivities at New york City’s Crimson lounge, where they had the chance to show off their steamy photo spreads, not to mention their uber-sexy ensembles.
Befitting of a true SI Swim party, there were more than enough curve-hugging minis to go around. Blonde beauties, Anne Vyalitsyna and Nina Agdal, looked heavenly in their fitted winter white frocks, designed by SI-favorite Herve Leger, while Jessica Perez rocked a similar style designed by Halston Heritage. Meanwhile, Julie Henderson took a break from her recent laid-back style spotted in the front row at this week’s New York Fashion Week shows to slip into a sultry black Carls Miele dress with fringe detail. The leggy model also let it slip that she set to launch her first swimwear line this coming Valentine’s Day, a gift that definitely beats the hell out of flowers and chocolates — no offense guys. Following Julie’s lead in a seductive black mesh minidress was SI rookie— and the lucky girlfriend to Yankee Derek Jeter— Hannah Davis, who, being the New Yorker that she is, said that when it comes to her go-to style it’s “all black everything!”
We can thank 2011 cover girl Irina Shayk and fellow bikini babes Katherine Webb and Jessica Gomes for adding a bright pop of color to the red carpet. Although looking a bit more covered up than one would expect for an SI Swim event, the Russian beauty stunned nonetheless in a sleek violet turtleneck dress, while Katherine and Jessica were red hot in a deep v-neck number (Herve Leger) and sexy jumpsuit.
But they weren’t the only ladies in red on hand for the occasion. The history-making two-time cover girl Kate Upton was turning heads left and right as she made her way down the carpet in a very ladylike ruby Lanvin strapless dress, Valentino heels and Chopard diamond jewels. While posing with her Polar Bare cover, Kate admitted that surviving the shoot was much more difficult than she made it seem in her photo. “It was freezing,” said the superstar. “I’m from Florida so, it wasn’t great for me. Obviously, the pictures now, it’s incredible. I can’t believe we were all able to accomplish that.”
Although fresh off the TV press circuit which included guest appearances on both ‘Late Night with David Letterman’ and ‘The Today Show’ earlier this week, the blonde bombshell looked fresh faced and ready to party! Good thing that the Crimson party was only the beginning of a long week of SI celebrations. The next stop for the bikini-clad beauties? Vegas baby! Stay tuned for even more SI Swim party coverage to come later this week!
