Blue-eyed catwalk queen, Aymeline Valade, know a thing or two about Fashion Week. Luckily for us, she isn’t holding anything back! From what she snacks on and how she passes the time backstage to what she always carries with her, Aymeline gives us a full pass to her Fashion Week. And since she has such a unique sense of style, we also had to find out what the model plans to wear for Fall!
Do you have a favorite backstage snack? Most of the time I like to snack on dried mango. Just the organic, very natural plain kind. I also like those sesame bars, the ones made up of different grains, sesame and honey and that puffy rice cereal with sesame sometimes. I’m not really in love with chocolate.
Favorite Fall trend? For Winter, I haven’t really thought about it because I’ve just thought about all my looks for the fashion weeks, which is already a lot! But, I already like anticipating this vision of superposition. I don’t want to wear pants. I want to superpose different layers all over like a long pair of pants cut off at the feet, and then another layer over that, and another layer, and you create a lot of different layers. Missoni did it a long time ago.
When you’re backstage, do you listen to your iPod, read or talk on the phone? Actually, backstage I like to do nothing. The most I will do is play with cards, like Solitare because it’s very stressful and you need to stay alert. If you read a book, you’re going to have to stop every 3 seconds for a picture or something. You have to pay attention to what people are telling you, so I prefer to just not do anything and play with cards.
What’s the most random thing you carry in your bag with you? I carry the things I have to, not really the things I want to like high heels, a book, my cards and my phone. I have nothing very exciting, except maybe this (points to her necklace) it’s a rock, and some jewelry. I bought the rock myself and attached it.
How will you unwind after Fashion Week? I will go straight to my man and then we’ll see. Going to him is like a relief. I think we may go somewhere close to here. Maybe Puerto Rico, or even San Diego.
