Let the games begin regarding the fashion credits for the upcoming Met Ball!
Already we know that Chrissy Teigen is planning to wear a design by Chris March, as she’s set to film for his new Bravo reality TV show, but today brings news of another model and designer pairing!
And this one is extra special.
As as celebration of her grandmother, the great Ingrid Bergman, Elettra Wiedemann collaborated with Prabal Gurung to reinvent a gown from the actress’ archives. A trunk of Ingrid’s dresses was delivered to Elettra, decided to honor her grandmother by wearing one to the Met Ball. Elettra chose an ivory silk chiffon gown by Fernanda Gattinoni, but decided that it need a bit of an alteration before she stepped on the Met steps.
Enter BFF Prabal Gurung. The designer put a few special touches on the dress - switching up the neckline, shortening the hem, and creating a graphic effect with the embroidery. “It’s still the same dress, by it feels a bit sexier, more contemporary, and younger,” Elettra explained.
With Prabal’s influence, Elettra’s beauty, and Ingrid’s fashion sense, the collaboration is sure to provide a magical moment at the Costume Institute.
