Though Fashion Week truly begins on Thursday, there’s nothing like a good pre-party to get the festivities underway. Last night fashion insiders hailed cabs and headed uptown, where Chanel lovers converged for the launch of the new lipstick line, Rouge Coco. As guests including Vanessa Paradis, Rachel Zoe, Daphne Guinness, Anne Slowey, Kate Bosworth, and Mario Sorrenti mingled at the Mark Hotel before dinner began, rosé was sipped and wonderings about the upcoming snowstorm discussed. Poppy Delevigne, fresh in from England, bemoaned her lack of snow-appropriate attire. However unprepared she may be for the blustery conditions, she was the perfect Chanel girl, complete with a darling double C necklace she borrowed just for the occasion.
Among the crowd, Heidi Mount and Edita V chatted, and Miss Mount taught us a little something about Mr. Lagerfeld. “Everything that Karl says, it feels like I’m back at school and learning. Spending time around Karl is one of my favorite parts about it.”
And for a Fashion Week tidbit, Irina Lazareanu let us in on a little secret: She won’t be walking this season. “I love walking, but I think I have over 10, 12 seasons in me. I’m at a point where I can appreciate it and have more time to work on my own projects—finishing my album and enjoying Fashion Week and going to shows, going to see Zac and Phillip.” Does that mean we’ll see you sitting front row? “Absolutely.” ~ Bianca Posterli
