What better way to kick off the weekend than with a bit of joyful baby news!

After announcing her pregnancy at the start of the year, Mini Anden has confirmed earlier today that she has just given birth to a son named Felix Shroeder.  Mini and her husband Taber welcomed their first born as many models do, sharing a precious shot via Instagram and Twitter.

“Our son Felix is here and we’re madly in love,” tweeted Mini along with a snapshot of her son’s teeny tiny foot.  How sweet!

We’re so happy for Mini and her growing family and wish them all the best during this exciting time!  Congratulations Shroeder family!

Models: they’re regularly tapped to front fragrance campaigns, but it’s not every day that they’re the founders of their own line of scents.  While getting her start in fashion and modeling at the ripe age of 15, Hawaiian-born Leilani Bishop was once a favorite model of photographers Bruce Weber, Steven Meisel and Arthur Elgort, earning campaigns with everyone from Gap and Tommy Hilfiger, to Versus.  After a decade of fashion globetrotting, Leilani headed back to Hawaii with her family and it was there among the island’s lush gardens that her second life’s passion would take form.

In a marriage of natural creativity and what she calls “an obsessions with flowers,” the Leilani Bishop Collection of fragrance oils was born from the former model’s Hawaiian upbringing, 80 acres worth of verdant farmland, her beachy sensibility and her connection to fashion and traveling.  “I’ve never really been much of a perfume person,” Lelani tells us during a stop by our office last week.  But I love flowers.”  Influenced by their sensuality, Leilani set out to create three single-note fragrances that are, like fresh flowers, beautiful, unique and a treat to the senses.  To start there’s the Pikake, which bears its name from the tropical white jasmine flower deemed the “Flower of Love” by a legendary Hawaiian princess.  An evocation of warm sunshine, a sweet island breeze and heritage above all else, the intoxicating fragrance captures everything we’ve come to associate with a heavenly escape.  From there, the line expands including Lilac, an oil dedicated to Leilani’s move to the East Coast, to Long Island to be exact, and orange blossom, the exotic, lively scent informed by the Mediterranean orange groves of Lelani’s early model travels.  Like the Pikake, Lilac and Orange Blossom are clean, pure fragrances that are feminine as they are expressive of a larger journey.

“I think we’ve all had this experience, where I’ll walk into a room and smell something and then all of a sudden I’m 10 years old again and I’ve been transported to this totally different place,” says Leilani.  “I do believe that when I am missing Hawaii, I’ll wear the Pikake more and when I want to feel more exotic, I’ll wear the Orange Blossom more often. And same with the Lilac when I’m thinking about springtime in the Hamptons—there’s nothing quite like that.  I think that’s also why I stuck to the simplicity and cleanness of the single note scent because I really do love the scent memory—it’s so powerful.”

Adding to that allure are the oils’ breathtaking glass bottles, which have been designed by Leilani herself.  As an avid antique collector, Leilani felt inspired by the spirit of vintage Bourjois perfume vials, not to mention one of our own pop-culture obsessions, Mad Men.  ” I’ve been obsessed with Mad Men lately and just the whole opulence of that era— especially the perfume bottles,” explains Leilani.  “Honestly, if I could have, I would have done it the way I like to apply oil, which is with just my finger.  But, I felt that just wasn’t as commercially acceptable or as easy to translate into everyday life and the roll-on was really the next best way to channel that.  It’s a little bit more sexy if you’re doing it in public.  It’s a more intimate experience, but it also lends itself back to that time and how women used to scent themselves.  If you watch Mad Men, women had these crystal bottles and they used the stoppers to apply the oils.  So, I think the way a woman applies her oils can be beautiful and sexy and something of a ritual.  And actually, if I end up doing a higher-end spray, I’ll probably do something with the squeeze bottle, which is still a more involved ritual.”

And while her powerful oils are reminiscent of summers past, Leilani is equally excited about the coming summer, during which she’ll be jet-setting with her husband, Jack Luber and their 11-year old son, Cassius, to Italy, followed by a stay at Yosemite.  “I’ve always payed attention to different scents and the smell of the air around me,” says Leilani. “I’m really excited to go to Italy and see what the scenery and scents provoke in me.”

Amidst of Fashion Week in September 2011, Elettra Wiedemann brought delicious, healthy meals to Lincoln Center with the launch of her first pop-up restaurant, “Goodness,” created with chef Ed Brown.  Now, as promised, Elettra’s “Goodness” has returned to the scene and this time around, you won’t need to battle the crowds to experience the model’s scrumptious skills!

Premiering on Vogue‘s YouTube channel this morning, “Elettra’s Goodness,” is the model/philanthropist’s latest culinary venture, featuring good food, good conversation and all within the comfort of our own homes— or office if you’re like us and you simply can’t wait until the end of the day to get in on the yumminess!

While a number of A-list stars are set to appear on the show, for her debut webisode, Elettra is joined by actress and wife to Ryan Reynolds (yes, we’re also incredibly jealous), Blake Lively, as they set out to recreate one of her favorite recipes: sausage and brie puff pastry with shallot confit, a fig and raspberry compote and balsamic drizzle.  Tempted yet?  We sure are!

While chatting about Blake’s lack of recipe use and love for flavored balsamics, the two baking beauties also get in on the topic of fashion and home decorating, a definite topic of interest to the certified style stars.

“I dream of being able to re-tile the kitchen,” says Elettra.  “I don’t even know why, I just always wanted to know how to do that.”

“My sister did it her bathroom,” adds Blake.  “It was really impressive because she was in her Louboutins and re-tiling her bathroom. ”

“That’s just a day in the life of the Lively family. You know, no big deal” laughs Elettra.

It’s that sort of adorable girl talk that makes us almost forget that these two gorgeous ladies are actually preparing an amazing dish worthy of a high Michelin rating.  Just as Blake tells a story about her experience cooking with the head pastry chef at New York City’s famed restaurant, “Per Se,” her and Elettra are also rolling out pastry dough and cracking eggs with one hand— and just look at that ring! And based on Elettra’s satisfied smile after taking her first bite, the results are just as stunning as Elettra and her pal Blake.

When one thinks of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, lets just say Victorian-era corsets and Jane Austen frocks aren’t the first things that come to mind.  Nevertheless, the supermodel admits that if has it her way, that’s exactly what we’re going to see her modeling next!

While speaking with Net-a-Porter‘s Hermione Eyre for this week’s edition of the retailer’s digital magazine, The Edit, Rosie spoke candidly about her bombshell status, revealing am unlikely career ambition in the process.

“I’d love to do a period drama, or make a quintessentially British comedy,” she says.”I just don’t connect with gross-out fart jokes and slapstick.”

It’s for that reason that the British beauty claims that she doesn’t plan on rocking hot pants forever— although we’re sure there are quite a few of her fans out there who wish she would.  As her latest role in the upcoming blockbuster Mad Max: Road Fury starring Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy proves though, Rosie has more than just the stunning screen siren looks— she also has the talent to boot!

Although her acting career and best-selling lingerie line remain her prime focus these days, Rosie proves she hasn’t lost a bit of her supermodel powers in the interview’s accompanying editorial spread.  With her sinuous curves and  bee-stung pout on display, the glamazon hit the California beach to model a slew of retro-inspired summer looks that she has since described as “riviera chic.”  Chic indeed!  The blonde beauty can’t help but smolder in her Dolce & Gabbana swimsuit and killer blue hot pants, despite the fact that she considers red to be her “power color.”

“I love red. I’m drawn to it. I feel great when I’m wearing it. It’s a sexy, confident color. But it’s got to be a deep, powerful shade.”
