Even though Fashion Week doesn’t officially start until Thursday, models were working all weekend attending castings and fittings for the upcoming shows. Modelinia had the privilege of attending BCBGMAXAZRIA and Herve Leger’s model callbacks on Sunday where we saw a slew of Fashion Week model vets as well as some fresh new faces we’re looking forward to getting to know this season. We first spotted Sports Illustrated bikini babe Jasmine Tookes looking calm and collected as she waited for the casting director to call her name. “I don’t think about it too much; I just kind of get in the zone” she said of the whole casting process. “They’re going really well so far though. I just got here yesterday from California and already have a bunch [of castings] to go to today and tomorrow.”
Sitting directly across from Jasmine was Fashion Week superstar, Liu Wen, who was busy chatting away with her fellow model friends. “It’s my eighth season so it’s really easy for me now,” the supermodel told us. “Because I’ve done it so much I don’t have to go to too many castings so it’s not so bad.” Indeed, Liu has walked in everything from Chanel to Victoria’s Secret, so fashion week at this point is a no-brainer for her. But that doesn’t mean she isn’t excited about the month to come. “I would like to walk in Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs, but more importantly I really just want to be able to enjoy it all this year.”
Among the other models on deck were Ruby Aldridge, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Zuzanna Bijoch and Kate King and though we won’t know who’s officially walking until the actual day of the show, we have a feeling all of these girls are a stiletto-in.
