Last night a collective sigh of relief came from the fashion crowd, as the end of Fashion Week was in sight.
Appropriately, T magazine planned their 5th-anniversary celebration just in time for everyone to let loose and enjoy themselves at the brand-new Boom Boom Room at the Standard Hotel. The line outside wrapped around the building, but Trish Goff was whisked right in. Some indigent men questioned her ability to skip the line, to which we answered, “She’s a supermodel, that’s why.” But once inside, all worries were forgotten, as it seemed like the entire room was transported back to the Gatsby era, with champers in magnificent vintage-style glasses and opulence flowing.
Once inside, the room was packed with designers, editors, models, and PR girls. Elettra Wiedemann took to one of the curved booths in the back, requesting sliders and throwing her own major dance party with friends, while Liya Kebede straddled the arm of a couch in the center of the room, taking in the stunning view of the West Side. Kemp Muhl, whose image for Zadig & Voltaire has been gracing the top of taxis this week, hung out in the center of the room with boyfriend Sean Lennon, and Helena Christensen popped from side to side. But others took in the lights of the city on the roof, and we certainly think Patrick McMullan might have been right when he said the Boom Boom Room could be the new Studio 54.
