Flash Mobs Take Over the West Side for Fashion's Night Out!

Deciding to tackle Fashion’s Night Out on the west side in one big swoop, we started our night at Macy’s before making our way down to the Meatpacking district.

After pushing and shoving our way up to the Impulse level of Macy’s Herald Square to check out Coco Rocha and the new Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s collection, we were pleasantly surprised to find Coco cool and collected, dissipating the sweaty, bustling crowd with an energetic smile. After quickly disappearing into the crowd, Coco reappeared with a bevy of dancing models and we watched in amazement as a perfectly choreographed dance routine unfolded before our eyes. Damaris Lewis was part of the group showing off her stellar moves while simultaneously rocking a super sexy, skin-tight lace bodysuit.

After our bewilderment faded we headed around the corner to Sunglasses Hut to meet up with Chanel Iman who was playing DJ for the night. The crowd could barely fit into the small boutique but luckily Chanel saw us in the distance and offered a wave before returning to her turntables and posing for a few photo ops with fans.

Next on the agenda was Z-Spoke which was filled with balloons inside and dancing outside with a DJ spinning all the hottest beats. Before we knew it, Damaris was bringing her flash mob through the scene to dance to the music, while Coco kept it simple and cheered on the dancers and snapped pics with some fans.

After all the dancing, we needed a little refresher, so we headed over to the Maybelline where event goers receieved everything from make-up application to professional photo shoots. On hand spokes models Lisalla Montenegro and Jessica White greeted guests, signed autographs and posed for photos. Jessica told us, “It is such a glamorous night to have around 9/11 because it shows that NYC is a strong and powerful city. The city is going on after a hard time! It is a night of celebrating fashion and I am proud to be working with one of the sponsors of this evening. I can’t think of a better job.”

After getting a quick makeover we dashed over to the Theodora & Callum pop up shop at the Standard Hotel. Sports Illustrated Model Search winner, Jessica Pérez, popped by the store to shop around and model off the beautiful Fall collection which she can also be seen wearing alongside Dominique Piek and Damaris Lewis in Theodora & Callum’s taxi cab ad playing all week long. Keep an eye out for this Costa Rican beauty, who was discovered while shopping after moving to NYC for college. she’s sure to be a fixture on the scene in no time!

To finish the night we put our dancing shoes back on and headed over to Stella McCartney where Elettra Wiedemann spun an awesome DJ set. Because honestly, who doesn’t love to dance the night away? ~ Talia Mirabelli & Liane Mullin
