Against a stark backdrop of wooden floors, paired with a rainforest inspired entrance, Banana Republic displayed the Spring 2011 collection on Tuesday afternoon to a selection of editors and an online audience, thanks to the livestream moment! Creative director Simon Kneen translated his inspiration of travel, discover, and explore into a line that ranged from country club whites to rainforest prints to military inspired moments, ending with a “floribunda” style maxi dress for the finale moment on Hanne Gaby Odiele, which was just screaming for an island retreat.

Patricia van der Vliet earned the opening position and assisted in the continuation of the white obsession from Fashion Week’s runways, followed by Siri Tollerød, Tao Okamoto, Alana Zimmer, and a newly blonde Ajak Deng! We caught up with Ajak after the show, and it turns out her platinum locks were for a different job - of the glossy kind! “They dyed my hair for Italian Vogue, but everyone seems to like it, so I think I’m going to keep it like this for a while! It was a little shocking,” she admitted. “I was crying, but now I’m trying to rock my new hair!”
