From Supermodel to Designer

As promised, the details have finally surfaced regarding the details about Amber Valletta’s clothing line.

The supermodel announced back in April that she would be collaborating on a women’s clothing line. It turns out she’s working with Monrow and creating her own line, called Amber Valletta for Monrow. “I never thought about designing at all,” Valletta said. “If anything, maybe I would have done some kind of a children’s line because I love shopping with my son.”

The idea was born when Amber met Michelle Wenke and Megan George, the designers. Her line will include sportswear, day dresses, layering pieces, rompers (since Amber’s a huge fan), and outerwear like blazers and jackets. “I’m not interested in making clothes that are not accessible,” Valletta said. “Sometimes it feels like it hurts when you make a big purchase, so I really believe that the more expensive things should be gems that you keep in your closet, not trends.”

Look for her designs in stores beginning in November, which will retail for $65 to $600.
